On December 21, 2025, community members gathered to enjoy festive caroling by the Grace Church Ensemble, holiday treats, and a special visit from Santa. The event welcomed a total of 1,422 attendees. We are grateful to everyone who donated funds and non-perishable food items, helping make the event a meaningful success for our community. Each year, we open the doors to the historic Hall of Laureates to welcome our community and kick off the winter holiday season with this free event. While sipping your hot cocoa, tour the Hall of Laureates and experience the beautiful art and architecture. Our docents share the stories and impact of the World Food Prize Foundation and Iowans in food and agriculture throughout the Open House. The holiday season is also an important season of giving and joining together in the spirit of alleviating hunger. To help support our Des Moines community, guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation. Learn more about the most needed items here.
